256 Faces of Love
I started the doll project in 2018 during a 10 month leadership program. I had been stashing bits and pieces over the years knowing that eventually I was going to let go and make a doll. What has unfurled is the call to make 256 dolls. They have called me forth to create them.
Each one is one of a kind using either found objects or things I already have. Recently I have been receiving small bits and pieces from friends as contributions to their creation. The premise is creating from everything and nothing.
- They have no faces.
- Your personal experience of them informs the imagined face.
- I created and designed their form which is constructed of a muslin body & stuffed with wool filler. I then stitch their bodies together by hand. Each one is slightly different.
- They hope to have a coming out party in February 2024.
- There is a list one can be put on to be notified when they are up for sale.
- They will only be sold in 2’s,3’s, 4’s etc… nobody is released in the world alone. They are better together!!
